Katy went to Camp Juliette Low in the north Georgia mountains for two weeks this summer. It was her second time to attend this camp but her first two-week session. The is the camp that Juliette Gordon Low, the founder of Girl Scouts, established herself in 1921. It was only 10 acres back then but has grown over the years. It’s been independently operated since the 1930s. She did archery, outdoor living skills, project adventure (team building and ropes) and horseback riding. Each unit did an out-of-camp activity and a sleeping-under-the-stars night. A few girls did an overnight trail ride and the extreme outdoor living group (Katy will be old enough for that next summer) did a backpacking overnight. Plus lots of swimming, singing, hiking, a talent show, All-Camp Day and too much to list!

This video was of the first night when each unit’s counselors and CITs had to sing a song. These were the Sherwood counselors. Katy must have been sitting right next to the camera as you can hear her laughing. Toward the end the girls in the unit went up to dance.
Each unit sings a secret song, something that they pick themselves, and then the counselors pick a required song for each unit to sing. This is Sherwood singing the required song. Katy is on the far left of the front row.
