It’s a mess around here. We got more snow than was forecast. All schools were dismissed at 1:45 but naturally they can’t bus everyone at once. Katy got home at 4, about 20 minutes earlier than usual and that point of three of 27 buses had picked up at her school. It’s now 6 p.m., there still kids and teachers at schools and buses are having to take kids back to school because they can’t get them home. There’s no school tomorrow and if anyone has to spend the night, I don’t know how they’re going to get them home in the morning. And it’s no use parents going to pick them up, they can’t get anywhere, either.
But everyone in our neighborhood made it home safe and sound and they are having a ball. They’ve been out a good two hours sledding and throwing snowballs. Katy just came in and said she’s in for good but her sleds are still in use. When we had that big storm three years ago that closed schools for a week Heath ordered some sleds. Naturally they didn’t arrive until after everything cleared up because the UPS truck couldn’t get anywhere. So Katy’s been waiting three years to use them.
I love how while Jonathan is towing Katy around she’s scooping up snow and nailing him and the other kids.

Miranda made a huge snow-cannonball kind of thing and had great aim but Katy and Gabriel were holding up sleds. Katy got some of that snow, though.

Buddy loves the snow, too. He had to be content with the back deck because he can’t be offleash and I’m not hanging around the cold while he sniffs every individual snowflake. We all tracked snow in the house and Buddy went around eating it all. Well, at least it’s cleaned up.
The snow has stopped but it’ll be around tomorrow. Katy’s going to do all her homework tonight so she’ll have tomorrow to play.
