Unusual for around here all of Katy’s elementary school goes to the same middle school. Their mascot is the lion so the last week of fifth grade is Unleash the Lions week. The students had something special every day: a breakfast, slide show, talent show, dodgeball with snow cones, a movie. The week ends with the fifth grade walk. All of the students line the halls and parents line up in the front hall. Several of the classes make posters. The fifth graders are dismissed first and they walk the entire length of the school while everyone cheers them on. It’s all very exciting! But before that comes the class parties. Katy’s class made ice cream sundaes, had fun “most likely to” awards and got matching t-shirts.

Walk video. Katy’s class is the last one.

After school I dropped Katy off for her violin lesson then ran out to get surprises ready.
She got two Autrey Mill Middle School t-shirts, The Smart Girl’s Guide to Starting Middle School and a purse. They can’t carry their backpacks during the day so I figured she’d want a little purse. And Katy was ready to eat the cupcakes right then but I told her she had to wait until after dinner. She’s already had ice cream, popcorn and cotton candy today!
